The Alpena County Road Commission offers a program modeled after the popular State of Michigan "Adopt-A-Highway" program. By issuance of a permit, participants may adopt one mile or more of a county road to keep clean for a period of two or more years. Cleanup occurs three times a year in conjunction with MDOT's highway cleanup program. The Road Commission provides safety vests, trash bags, and trash pickup after the cleanup. After the first pickup has been completed, the name of your group will be posted on Adopt-A-Road signs at your roadside site. This is a great opportunity for all types of organizations, small and large businesses, churches, youth groups and service organizations to set a good example for the community while promoting your organization or business. For further information regarding this program, please call the Road Commission at 989-354-3252.
THANK YOU ADOPT-A-ROAD VOLUNTEERS!
